Founded in 1937 by Nathan J. Roberts, our store has been a
Minneapolis landmark serving the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & Saint Paul)
for the last 66 years. We are located on the corner of Chicago Avenue
and Lake Street, in the heart of Minneapolis.


Our old-fashioned family shoe store has over 21,000 pairs of shoes in
stock. Our staff consists of seasoned professional shoe-fitters
averaging over 32 years experience selling shoes.

Roberts Shoe Store has been a destination shoe store longer than most shoe
stores have been in business. With over 70 brands in stock, we can
usually find what you want, and what you need. We carry Men's, Women's
and Children's shoes in a variety of styles:

A Roberts Shoe Store timeline would show how the styles and fashions, materials and technology
have changed our shoe display slat-walls. All during the '40s and '50s Saddle Shoes and Penny Loafers ruled the realm. In the '60s Converse All Stars and the Minnesota Made Red Wing Work boots held court, an also-mention would have to be Wing Tip dress shoes in Brown or Black. The early '80s our slat-walls would offer Cowboy Boots because of the "Urban Cowboy" movie starring John Travolta and another mention would be "Minnetonka Moccasins" made entirely in Minnesota at that time. The mid '80s would be all Fila, the number one athletic shoe in the country - surprisingly. The '90s would have to be the Air Force One and Air Jordan along with the ubiquitous Doc Martens of England. Today were looking at Denmark's Dansko clogs (the successor to the original Wooden clog) and Australia's own sheepskin boots the Ugg. Were still testing product to see what the next fashion maker will be.
